Stone Secure Shredding, a company I designed a web site for two years ago, recently came to me to help with SEO. They loved the site design, but felt they we’re not getting enough traffic to their web site. I explained that the first step in getting new customers is simple, to be found where customer are searching. If you’re not then the design of your web site can not serve your company to it’s full potential. I went on to explain to them that I could help position their web site by optimizing their web sites pages with targeted keywords and phrases. This is a process called organic search engine optimization, or SEO.
As a result we designed a very simple SEO plan to fit the clients budget. Because the client runs a local regional business, the target phrases we’re regional locations such as Saratoga NY, Albany, NY and surrounding areas, along with keywords for their service offerings such as paper shredding, and document destruction. So our targeted phrases were Saratoga paper shredding, Albany paper shredding, etc.
We also optimized their one page site for their sister company, Stone Container and dumpster rentals. A one page web site is a challenge for SEO, especially a one page site with very little content. Ideally in this situation you should expand your web site to add more content. But again to accommodate our clients request we went on to optimize the single page site for targeted phrases such as Saratoga Dumpster Rental, and Albany Container Rental.
Once our initial optimization is complete it’s time to monitor the results, and get some back links. To monitor the results we set up and install Google Analytics for monthly email reports. And lastly, believe it or not, is this case study. Our case studies help our clients understand more about our process and services, but also help our clients with back links and keyword rich content.
